James D. Fairchild
James is a graduate of Liberty University School of Law. He is married and has one child. He holds undergraduate degrees in Theology and Business. He has been a small business owner and was in the construction industry for over 10 years.
During law school he was able to work for local law firms and tried cases for almost a year with the Bedford VA Commonwealth Attorney’s Office.
He is a member of the Virginia State Bar, the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association and a member of the Business law and Trusts and Estates sections of the VSB. James is also certified to practice in Federal Court and in Bankruptcy court.

Ben Rathsam
Ben grew up just outside of Hershey, Pennsylvania, and moved to Lynchburg in the fall of 2009 to attend Liberty University. He earned his undergraduate degree in Criminal Justice, graduating Magna Cum Laude. During his Senior year, Ben was a member of the executive board for the Liberty University chapter of Alpha Phi Sigma The National Criminal Justice Honors Society.
After graduation, Ben attended Law School at Liberty University. While in Law School Ben served on the executive board of the Liberty University Moot Court Team, articles editor for the Liberty Legal Journal, research assistant for Prof. Tory Lucas, and interned for Judge Randolph Beales of the Virginia Court of Appeals. Ben received several advocacy awards while at Liberty University, including 2nd best brief at the Andrews Kurth National Moot Court Championship Tournament.
When he is not working, Ben enjoys attending Liberty University sporting events, Lynchburg Hillcats Baseball games, and spending time with family and friends. Ben also stays involved with Liberty University School of Law by grading briefs for moot court and judging moot court tournaments. He is also involved in Thomas Road Baptist Church where he attends on a weekly basis.
